MADISON COUNTY COMMISSION PRESENTS $25,000 TO PROTECT FRONTLINE WORKERS

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Madison County is working alongside Huntsville Hospital Health System to provide for the safety of frontline workers and the community. Madison County Commission Chairman Dale W. Strong presented $25,000 to the not-for-profit hospital today to assist with ongoing equipment and supply needs associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The discretionary funding was approved by Chairman Strong at the December 21, 2020, Madison County Commission meeting, and was allocated to Huntsville Hospital Foundation’s Emergency Assistance Fund for the purchase of personal protective equipment for Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children, and Madison Hospital employees and patients.

"Protecting our residents and front-line healthcare workers throughout Madison County from COVID-19 remains a top priority,” said Chairman Strong. “Madison County is proud to partner with Huntsville Hospital and their Foundation in working together to ensure the safety and protection of this community both today and in the days ahead. It’s my hope these funds will help to slow the spread of COVID-19 in Madison County.”

Huntsville Hospital CEO David Spillers and HHF President Sarah Savage-Jones accepted the donation and expressed gratitude for the partnership.

“Throughout all the uncertainty and crises of the past year, donations like these that bring hope and confirmation that we are truly all in this together,” said Savage-Jones. “The Foundation is thankful that Chairman Strong and our County Commission value the vital role of our hospitals and health care heroes.
