Started life small... but living life big!

Frank and Nick Lockwood were born at 34 weeks. Frank weighed 4 lbs 1 oz and Nick weighed 5 lbs 1 oz. Frank recieved care in the NICU for 24 days and Nick recieved care for 14 days. They are now eight years old!

Tell us about your “now” photo and how your child is living life big!

Frank participated in his first you triathalon this summer. He did great and we are so proud of him! Nick excelled at swimming this summer. He made finals in City Meet for freestyle, backstroke, and was an alternate for butterfly. He had lots of PRs and worked so hard. Mom and dad are proud of them both!

How did the NICU and Melissa’s Fund help ensure milestones like this were possible for your child and family? What does that mean to you?

Almost 9 years ago, Frank and Nick were born the day of the Miracle Bash. I had never heard of Melissa’s Fund before and I had no idea how positively it would effect the life of my family. We are forever grateful for the care our family received from all of the wonderful staff at Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children. The doctors, nurses, lactation consultants and other staff members will always have a special place in my heart for taking such great care of my boys. I will forever be thankful for the life saving equipment that was purchased through Melissa’s Fund that helped my boys the first weeks of their life.

Why does your family support our NICU through Miracle Bash and Melissa’s Fund?

Since the boys were born, we have supported the Miracle Bash and Swim for Melissa. We love being a small part of a BIG thing for other NICU families to support them in their greatest time of need.
