As a Central Pharmacy employee on Huntsville Hospital’s third shift, Kaiden Anderson is used to helping keep the hospital running through the night. But in late 2023, Kaiden found themselves on the other side of care, facing a sudden and frightening decline in mobility.
What began as treatment for fibromyalgia symptoms quickly escalated into months of chronic pain and uncertainty. After extensive testing and a difficult search for answers, Kaiden was diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) — a rare condition that affects how the brain sends and receives signals throughout the body.
Throughout that journey, one constant remained: the Med Mall Therapy Services team.
Kaiden had received therapy care at Med Mall off and on for several years, but this season of care stood apart. Faced with new physical challenges and an uncertain path forward, Kaiden found compassion, teamwork, and determination in every member of the therapy team.
“My whole team — the occupational therapists and assistants and the physical therapists and assistants — have been extremely kind, caring, and determined to help me get through this and learn how to manage my condition,” Kaiden shared. “They’ve seen me at my worst and truly listened. I honestly don’t know how I would have survived 2024 without them.”
That support proved life-changing, helping Kaiden continue working and regain strength and confidence during a difficult year.
Grateful for the care they received, Kaiden chose to honor the entire Med Mall Therapy Services team through a Care Champion gift to Huntsville Hospital Foundation — a way for grateful patients and families to recognize caregivers who make a lasting difference.
For Kaiden, the message to their care team is simple and heartfelt:
“Thank you for supporting me and helping me rebuild my life.”
Stories like Kaiden’s reflect what makes Huntsville Hospital special — dedicated teams, compassionate care, and the powerful bond between caregivers and the people they serve. We’re proud to celebrate our employees, and grateful to every patient who takes the time to say thank you.
