When Mark Reiter joined Huntsville Hospital Foundation’s Development Council, he didn’t just learn about Huntsville Hospital — he found a way to give back to his community in a meaningful, ongoing way.
“During my time on the Development Council I had the opportunity to learn about the Foundation and its charitable giving to the hospital,” Mark shared. “A number of programs, like Canines for Coping and Arts in Medicine, would not exist without the Foundation, yet they are so impactful to patients at the hospital and the community.”
One program especially stood out: Canines for Coping, the facility dog program that brings comfort and support to patients across our Madison County hospitals.
“It is my favorite program as it brings a smile to so many patients and staff members. Seeing the sheer joy it brings to everyone at the hospital is incredibly heartwarming.”
That inspiration led Mark to become a monthly donor — an easy commitment that makes a lasting difference while fitting seamlessly into his life.
“It makes it so easy! For the equivalent of a coffee, lunch, or nice dinner out it makes such a large impact to the Foundation, and it honestly goes unnoticed in my monthly budget.”
For Mark, monthly giving is about something bigger: helping our city thrive. “My goal through giving is to make Huntsville a happier and healthier community. Huntsville is incredibly lucky to have a strong and committed hospital and Foundation to keep our community safe, and every dollar counts.”
