Berkley's NICU Story

Berkley Stutts was born at 24 weeks, weighing 1 lb 14 oz. He benefited from the equipment and technology in the Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children Neonatal ICU for the first 115 days of his life. He is now a fun, rambunctious two-year-old.

“A big thing for us is to try to give back and help other families. It’s not just people here in the Huntsville and Madison area that’s being helped by the NICU. At any time, there are 60-plus babies. Just knowing how many babies are actually in the NICU and how much equipment is back there helping the babies … Without that equipment, Berkley wouldn’t be here today with us. If you just give a little bit, it really helps out, because if everybody gave a little it adds up to be a lot.”

The Melissa George Neonatal Memorial Fund at Huntsville Hospital Foundation raises essential funds to provide lifesaving equipment for NICU babies just like Berkley.
